Founder of the Southeastern Insurance Agency, Inc.

Bradford “Brad” W. Lowe, age 86, of Osprey, FL, formerly a longtime resident in Dartmouth, MA, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025.
Brad was born on February 15, 1939, in Boston, MA, and was the only child of the late Commander Frank W. Lowe Jr., Esq., and Leona Lowe, Esq.
He is survived by his loving wife Cleo, and was the proud father of Lora of Dartmouth, MA, and Scott of Sandwich, MA, plus numerous fur babies.
Brad was a legend. He will be missed and forever remembered by all who knew him. He was a fierce and competitive athlete who graduated from The Fessenden School in Newton, Tabor Academy in Marion, MA, and the University of Arizona, where he was awarded a football scholarship. His love of football, especially watching collegiate ball games, continued for his lifetime. He was a lifetime New England Patriots fan.
Brad started his lifelong career in the insurance world in 1962 at Liberty Mutual Insurance. After their sales training, he was assigned his first territory in Harlem, NY, then quickly promoted to Wall Street as his territory as the head salesperson for the Fortune Five Hundred corporate accounts. He started his own insurance agency in 1978 with multiple locations in Massachusetts under the name of Southeastern Insurance Agency, Inc., where he remained until retiring in 2020 after selling his company. He never wanted to lose his ability to provide insurance advice and knowledge, as he remained an actively licensed insurance agent in MA and NY.
Brad was a star athlete, a great friend, and the life of every party. His sports activities included the New England Wrestling Championship, defensive end position football, tennis tournaments, sailing, boating, harness racing, fishing, golfing, and in the later years, weekly bridge games. He had the ability to be good at any sport and loved to win. He loved old western movies. His love of adventure and traveling, his extra dry vodka martinis with an orange twist, and going out to dinner were forever his favorite things. Brad thoroughly enjoyed life. He took great pleasure from his wife and children.
He treated clients like friends and friends and coworkers like family. He held family, including special friends, in the highest regard forever in his heart.
At his request, there will be no service, and cremation arrangements will be private. A celebration to honor Brad’s life was held on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025, from 4-6 PM at the Country Club of New Bedford in Dartmouth, MA, where he was a member since 1968.
In lieu of flowers, we encourage you to honor Brad’s legacy by donating to the Humane Society of New Bedford or the New Bedford Whaling Museum, which were dear to him, or to any other cause of your choosing. This, we believe, would be a great tribute to his extraordinary life.
