Arbella Insurance Group has appointed Jon Swartz as vice president and chief actuary, effective May 11, 2026.

QUINCY, Mass., May 19, 2026 – The Arbella Insurance Group (Arbella) today announced the appointment of Jon Swartz as the company’s new Vice President, Chief Actuary, effective May 11, 2026. As Chief Actuary, Jon will lead pricing and reserving strategies and oversee the company’s data science and data governance initiatives, which are critical to Arbella’s continued growth and long-term success.

Jon brings more than 20 years of leadership experience across underwriting, actuarial strategy, product development, and enterprise transformation to Arbella. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Underwriting at Farm Bureau Financial Services in Iowa. In that role, Jon had responsibility for all P&C lines of business.

“Jon is an innovative leader with a proven ability to modernize P&C portfolios and drive profitable growth, but his value extends beyond professional accomplishments,” said Paul Brady, Chief Executive Officer at Arbella. “He’s known for his collaborative leadership style and commitment to building high-performing teams, which make him an excellent fit for the culture we’ve built at Arbella. We’re pleased to add him to our executive leadership team.”

Throughout his career, Jon has developed deep expertise in pricing strategies, rate development, loss reserving, and reinsurance. He is well regarded for his technical acumen and for providing thoughtful, strategic guidance to the company’s executive leadership team.

“I’m honored to join Arbella at a pivotal time for the organization and to have the opportunity to help shape the next phase of its growth,” said Jon. “Arbella has built a strong reputation for delivering real value to agents and customers across New England, and I’m excited to partner with Paul and the leadership team to further strengthen our pricing and reserving discipline while advancing our data science and data governance capabilities. Together, we’ll continue to make smart, customer-focused decisions that support sustainable, profitable growth for the long term.”

Jon earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Drake University. He also has the following accreditations: Fellow Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS), Member American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA), and Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter Designation (CPCU).
