The members of the Essex/Middlesex Chapter of Massachusetts Association of Insurance Women (“MAIW”) are proud to announce the following winners of the 2023 Estelle Jeter Scholarship:
The annual scholarship awards a $500 to an individual for use as a college scholarship or as a reimbursement for those with a passing grade for a licensing course and/or exam of an insurance designation course.
To be eligible, applicants must be either be in the insurance industry or be a family member of someone who is employed in the insurance industry. The applicant must all be planning on attending college and/or any other higher education/trade school, or is planning to acquire a new insurance designation or work related license.
The submission deadline for this year’s scholarship was May 31, 2023.
Logan Carroll of Beverly, MA
Logan plans on attending Endicott College and majoring in psychology. He is a graduate of Essex North Shore Agricultural and Technical High School. Logan’s mom is Tina Carroll and is employed with Cross Insurance.
Grace Scarbrough of Essex, MA.
Grace plans to attend the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and major in business marketing. She is a graduate of Manchester Essex Regional High School. Grace’s father is connected with MAIW through his business endeavors.
The Essex/Middlesex Chapter MAIW wishes them much success and is happy to help them reach more amazing things.
The MAIW is now in its 88th year of operation

Founded in 1938, the MAIW’s missions and goals continue to be the same ones that it started with “…to provide opportunities for insurance professionals to both further their education and alliances within the Massachusetts insurance industry.”
Currently, the organization has ten chapters that meet regularly throughout the year in different regions of the Commonwealth. In addition, the MAIW’s holds association-wide meetings held throughout the year.
For those insurance professionals interested in joining the MAIW, the non-profit organization is open to anyone living or working in an insurance-related occupation in Massachusetts. The MAIW welcomes interested individuals to attend one of its monthly Chapter meetings to learn more.
