New Site Aims To Be The Angie’s List of Insurance Agents

August 4, 2015 by AC Editor

The new site will provide trusted reviews of Agents

A new website, Agent Review (www.agentreview.net), re-launched in July of this year, is positioning itself to become the new Yelp or Angie’s List of the Insurance Industry. Unlike Trusted Choice’s Online Consumer Portal or Google Compare, Agent Review does not provide on-line insurance quoting capabilities. Rather, the website, which is free, aims to provide accessible and information insurance information to consumers who can then connect with local insurance professionals in their area by reviewing and selecting an agent using the site’s verified agent reviews.

“80 percent of consumers start their search for insurance online, but are bombarded by an array of web sites, sales pitches, and articles that lead them to believe insurance is simple. The fact is, there is no such thing as simple insurance,” said Harley Gordon, Co-Founder and President, Agent Review. “Agent Review provides a trusted resource for consumers to fully understand the complexities of their needs, then find an agent to help address them.”

The site has been already been featured on Yahoo Finance, ABC, NPR, Reuters and USA Today. Here is a screenshot of the front page of the website:

Another way in which local agents can connect with new clients for free

In addition to providing consumers with the opportunity to self-educate on a variety of insurance topics, the site also provides an opportunity for insurance agents to reach out to new clients by claiming their profile on the site. Consumers can search for agents by zip code, insurance offered, language and experience. According to Agent Review, an authorized third-party service verifies all of the reviews that appear on its site to independently provide an assurance of authenticity and credibility.

For industry professionals, Agent Review provides a much-needed opportunity to restore the agent-consumer relationship, according to Jonas Roeser, Co-Founder and CEO, Agent Review. “Buying insurance requires a personalized touch that only an agent can provide, and consumers simply aren’t getting online,” said Roeser. “Agent Review benefits both sides of the equation – providing agents with the exposure of a national platform, and consumers with an opportunity to engage with them directly within a trustworthy setting.”

Initial listing for agents is free

Like Trusted Choice, the initial listing on Agent Review is free. The site, however, notes that for an additional fee, agents will receive an enhanced listing with expanded information, client testimonials, images, and video. The fee also allows agents to have their profiles verified by an independent third party source for additional credibility. It does appear that the site has launched and relaunched a couple of times already, so Agency Checklists recommends that agents do their own due diligence before signing up.
