Mr. Sheehan spent his entire career in the Massachusetts insurance industry
William J. “Bill” Sheehan, 89, of Wellesley, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 22, 2021. He was the devoted husband of the late Mary Cloherty Sheehan for 47 wonderful years. Bill was born in Boston on August 19, 1932, one of 6 children, to the late James T. Sheehan, Department Superintendent of the Boston Police (also known as “Mr. Integrity” and “the Racket Buster”), and Mabel Sheehan. He was the last living sibling and was predeceased by his brothers James, Francis, and Paul (his twin), as well as sisters Margaret Callahan and Sister Helen Thomasina, SND. He is survived by dozens of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. He was a graduate of Mission High School, St. John’s Seminary, and Boston State College.
Bill spent his entire working life in insurance, first as an employee of Kemper Insurance Company, and then as owner of the Jensen-Sheehan Insurance Agency for 38 years in Holliston, MA. Bill was a man of great faith and a member of St. John Parish, Wellesley, for over 50 years. He and Mary were not blessed with children, but were able to support children and parents in Massachusetts as well as HIC-Cayes (Haiti) and the Hospital Clinic in Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of the Congo).
