BayCoast Insurance Announces Its Acquisition of E.P. Tremblay and Sons Insurance Agency, Inc.

June 6, 2023 by Owen Gallagher

Paul Burke, Vice President at BayCoast Insurance; Mark Tremblay, President of E.P. Tremblay’ Patrick Long, President & CEO of BayCoast Insurance; Chris Hadley, Vice President at BayCoast Insurance; and Lori Chaput, Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer at BayCoast Insurance

BayCoast Insurance, one of the leading insurance agencies on the South Coast of Massachusetts, has announced that it acquired E.P. Tremblay and Sons Insurance Agency, Inc. of Somerset, Massachusetts, effective as of May 31, 2023.

“We are proud to welcome E.P. Tremblay Insurance to the BayCoast Insurance family,” said Patrick D. Long, President and CEO of BayCoast Insurance. “For more than 48 years, E.P. Tremblay has offered comprehensive insurance coverage to members of our local communities. We look forward to continuing to provide the customized solutions and service they have come to expect.”

For more than two decades, BayCoast Insurance has been a trusted source of high-quality insurance products and personalized service on the South Coast of Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

“With our aligned cultures and values, the decision to join BayCoast Insurance was an easy one to make,” said Mark Tremblay, President of E.P. Tremblay. “It has been a privilege to have served my insurance customers throughout the years, and I am confident they will enjoy an exceptional level of service with BayCoast that is second to none.”

With this acquisition, Tremblay customers can access eight BayCoast Insurance locations across Southern New England, including Massachusetts offices in Fall River, Somerset, Swansea, Seekonk, Fairhaven, and a Rhode Island office in Tiverton.

In discussing the transition, Mr. Tremblay added, “I am pleased that Judy Ferreira, a long-time insurance agent, and customer service specialist at Tremblay, is now part of the BayCoast Insurance family and will help ensure a smooth transition for our valued customers.”

BayCoast Insurance has grown organically and through acquisitions

This is the second acquisition for BayCoast Insurance in recent months. The agency has a long history of growth since it began in September of 2000 with the purchase of Hassey, Sullivan & Breault Insurance Agency. Several more acquisitions followed, including:

  1. December 2022 – Hadley Insurit Group
  2. February 2021 – Interstate Insurance
  3. October 2012 – JM Doherty Insurance
  4. April 2008 – Tiverton Insurance
  5. January 2008 – Alberto Insurance
  6. June 2006 – Patenaude Insurance
  7. January 2006 – Associates Insurance
  8. January 2005 – Mizher Insurance
  9. Hassey, Sullivan & Breault Insurance Agency

Until 2023, BayCoast Insurance was known as Partners Insurance Group

Previously known as Partners Insurance Group since 2010, the agency began the process of changing its name to BayCoast Insurance in January of 2023. As a wholly owned subsidiary of BayCoast Bank, this rebranding further solidifies the agency’s connection to the respected BayCoast brand, which has built a strong reputation for excellence in Southern New England.

“We’re still the same insurance agency, with the same great people,” notes Long. “Our new name better reflects our relationship with the BayCoast brand and its family of exceptional services and financial solutions. Our customers will benefit from the convenience of having access to this wide variety of solutions all under the BayCoast name.”
