Monson Homeowner Praises His Independent Insurance Agent & Insurance Company on The Emily Rooney Show

May 22, 2012 by AC Editor

Listen to the program here: The Tornadoes’  Toll

On May 16, 2012, Insurance Commissioner Joseph Murphy and Undersecretary Barbara Anthony appeared on the Emily Rooney radio show to discuss the tornadoes that affected Western and Central Massachusetts on June 1, 2011. They discussed the state’s response to last year’s disasters and reminded listeners about the importance of not only being insured but of annually renewing your insurance policies to make sure that you have the proper limits.

Also appearing on the show was Ken Bailey, a homeowner from Monson, who was affected by the tornadoes. During the program,  Mr. Bailey recounted his experience during last year’s tornadoes and how he has fared during the last year. He noted that unlike many of his neighbors his house was insured and had sufficient limits.

In addition, Mr. Bailey said that insurance-wise, he had nothing but good things to say about both his agent and insurance carrier. Mr. Bailey said that on the day of the tornadoes he had been away from home and when his wife called to tell him what had happened, his response was not to go home first but to go straight to his insurance agent. He said that when he got there his agent was there waiting for him, which made all the difference in the world. Unfortunately, Mr. Bailey did not mention who his independent insurance agent is by name. Agency Checklists contacted The Emily Rooney show to see if they had the name of Mr. Bailey’s insurance agent or Mr. Bailey’s contact information but they did not respond to our email in time for the publication of this article. But, whoever insures Mr. Bailey, we thought you would like to know what great things he had to say about your customer service.

Mr. Bailey did mention that his insurance company was The Hanover. He also had nothing but good things to say about The Hanover’s response in the aftermath of the tornadoes. He recalled that representatives from The Hanover were on site the next day to visit him and to see how they could help. When Ms. Rooney asked him how long it took before he got any money from the company, Mr. Bailey said that the Hanover had cut him a check that same day to cover his living expenses.
