MarshBerry Selects Mass. Agency Rogers & Gray As “Best of the Best”

October 3, 2014 by AC Editor

Agency Checklists, MA Insurance News, Mass. Insurance News, Rogers & GrayFounded in 1906, Rogers & Gray ranks as one of the top 100 independent agencies in the U.S.

Rogers & Gray was named “Best of the Best” by MarshBerry at its Total Agency Sales Culture (TASC) Summit meeting held this past September in Denver. The Best of the Best Award, introduced by MarshBerry for the first time this year, recognized one agency that has outperformed the TASC network in critical metrics relating to growth performance including, total commission and fees growth, new business production, staff reinvestment and hiring, account size development, and individual producer performance. The metrics are also calculated with a sustainability factor requiring strong performance over a five year time frame.

TASC is a national peer exchange forum consisting of more than 40 firms that represent over $1 billion of aggregate insurance agency and broker revenue. The TASC peer exchange forum includes 15 firms that are recognized in industry top 100 lists. The requirements of BANK/TASC participation include on-site meetings to review quarterly financial and growth performance.

In order to be recognized, a firm must provide MarshBerry with validated, detailed financials which are collected and audited through an industry recognized benchmarking tool named, Perspectives for High Performance (“PHP”). MarshBerry  reviews each of the nominee agencies from across the country on the following measurements:

  • Revenue Growth
  • New Business Production
  • Producer Reinvestment
  • Education and Training
  • Account Size and Growth

The award recognized the Cape Cod-based agency as the top performing growth firm as measured against its nationwide peers. Overall, the independent agency outperformed every other nominee in critical growth metrics.

“To be recognized as the ‘Best of the Best’, especially amongst a group of nominees as outstanding as the other agencies, is tremendous. “ Said Charles Robinson, President and CEO.  “It takes many years for an organization to accomplish such an achievement and it certainly takes a team that works together and has the desire to excel to make it happen. We could not be more proud of our team.”

After over 100 years in business, Rogers & Gray continues to be a privately held insurance agency with expertise in personal & commercial lines risk management and employee benefits consulting. Headquartered in South Dennis, the agency has eight offices in Massachusetts and employs over 130 people.  Rogers & Gray also has been recognized as a 2014 Top 100 Property & Casualty Agency by the Insurance Journal.

Founded in 1981, MarshBerry has been ranked by SNL Financial as the number one merger & acquisition advisory and consulting firm for the last 15 years. The company’s primary objective is to provide consulting services in the financial services industry to independent insurance agents/brokers and carriers. It also publishes several publications for agents and brokers including The MarshBerry Report and For The Record.
