May 15, 2020 by Agency Checklists

A Massachusetts agent and a Vermont Agent both make this year’s list

As it does every Spring, Travelers has announced its the winners of its 2020 Agent of the Year Award. Each year, the Hartford-based insurer selects and recognizes a group of its Personal Insurance agents for their ‘outstanding customer service, delivery of long-term profitable growth and commitment to Travelers.’

“We are proud to acknowledge this exceptional group of agents who regularly go above and beyond to deliver high levels of service to our personal insurance lines customers,” said Michael Klein, Executive Vice President and President of Personal Insurance at Travelers. “Our independent agents are trusted advisors in their communities, providing guidance and peace of mind – especially during times of uncertainty. We applaud their success and are grateful for their continued partnership.”

This year, Massachusetts insurance agent Tony D’Ericco was selected as one of Travelers Personal Insurance Agents of the Year. Mr. D”Errico is currently the Personal Lines Market Leader at the Marsh & McLennan and the SVP of Mercer Health and Benefits, LLC. His career in the insurance industry spans more than two decades and includes 21 years with MetLife Auto and Home as well as prior leadership positions with Allstate.

Also making this year’s list is Vermont insurance agent Mr. Mongeon began his career in insurance by joining Winooski Insurance, as a producer, in 2010. In 2016, he became vice president of the agency and under his leadership Winooski Insurance, also doing business as DealerPolicy Insurance Agency, expanded to become licensed in 48 states.

As reported in another Agency Checklists article, in addition to being an independent insurance agent, Mr. Mongeon is also a co-founder of DealerPolicy, and President of DealerPolicy Insurance.

In an official press release on his Agent of the Year award, it states that in this role he combined his technical skills with his insurance background to create the FastPass application. The application enables car buyers to search for competitive auto insurance quotes on their phones, and easily make a purchase on the spot while in a car dealership. His innovative approach helped DealerPolicy Insurance grow by 133% in total written premium in 2019.

In commenting on the recognition, Mr. Monegon said, The Agent of the Year award recognizes agents who consistently deliver the highest quality of service to their customers,” said Mr. Mongeon. “We are proud of our accomplishments and truly value the ongoing partnership we have developed with Travelers.”
