Coverys, a leading provider of medical professional liability (MPL) insurance and healthcare risk mitigation services, has announced the appointment of Cathy Donahue as its chief operating officer. Reporting to Joseph G. Murphy, president and CEO of Coverys, she will oversee a wide range of functions and business units within Coverys, including Claims; Human Resources; Risk Management and Analytics; Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion; Information Technology; Enterprise Risk Management; and Enterprise Project Management.
Donahue brings more than two decades of experience within the insurance industry, during which she led successful operational model redesigns, efficiency strategies, and product delivery initiatives resulting in new capabilities, digitization, and service process automation. She will bring this extensive knowledge together in her new role to serve as a driving force in scaling innovation throughout Coverys – in full advancement of the company’s mission to support and protect healthcare professionals as they focus on providing medical excellence.

Donahue most recently served as assistant vice president and chief administrative officer at The Hartford, where she oversaw the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion strategy for the Claims and Operations Division. Prior to that, she held senior operations roles at Chubb & Son, including vice president and managing director of Worldwide Surety Operations and operations manager for North America. Cathy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology from Gettysburg College.
