Insurance Library Announces 2025 Members of Hess Benefactor Society

July 21, 2025 by Owen Gallagher

The Insurance Library has announced that the four 2025 members of the Library’s Henry E. Hess Benefactor Society for 2025 are The Andover Companies, Cross Insurance, Safety Insurance, and Vermont Mutual Insurance Group.

Michael Pezza Jr., the Library’s Executive Director, explained that the society—named in honor of Henry E. Hess, one of the Library’s principal founders in 1887—recognizes those providing the highest levels of total financial support to the Library, including annual fund donations, IPYA and scavenger hunt sponsorships, webinar sponsorships and other education program fees, membership dues, silent auction donations, capital contributions, and other financial support.

Pezza said, “These four society members have an exceptional history of membership and involvement with the Library and its programs. We are deeply grateful for, and appreciative of, the extraordinarily generous, enthusiastic, and wide-ranging support—financial and otherwise— that we received from them in our recently ended fiscal year.”

The Insurance Library Association of Boston was founded in 1887. It is the country’s first, and only remaining, independent library dedicated solely to the subject of insurance. The Library’s mission is to provide members of the insurance, risk management, financial security, and legal communities, and the public, with high-quality educational programming, opportunities for networking and engagement, and unique research resources and services. Its vision is to be recognized as the preeminent nonprofit provider of such services and programs, build upon its unique position as a hub for engagement, and expand its reach nationally.

The Insurance Library is a nonprofit organization recognized as tax-exempt under IRC § 501(c)(3).

More information about the Library, including membership, educational programs, upcoming events, and its research resources and services can be found on the Library’s website, www.insurancelibrary.org.
