Rodman Insurance Agency’s beginnings date back to 1935
Another long-time independent insurance agency in Massachusetts has been acquired. On November 12th, J. Scott Penny, Chief Acquisitions Officer of Brown & Brown, Inc. announced that Brown & Brown of Massachusetts had acquired all of the assets of the Rodman Insurance Agency.
Donald M. McGowan, a Regional President in Brown & Brown’s Retail Division, who will have oversight responsibility for the new Rodman Insurance Agency operations, stated, “Rodman Insurance Agency has built an exceptional reputation as one of the premier independent agencies in New England. We continue to be impressed with the strength and diversity of Rodman’s leadership and look forward to collaborating with their team to open new doors in the future.”
Based in Needham and with roots dating back to 1935, the Rodman Insurance Agency has grown over the past eight decades to become one of Massachusetts’ largest independently owned insurance agencies with approximately $9.5 million in annual revenues. Until its acquisition, the agency had specialized in commercial lines with a focus on providing insurance products and services in the real estate, habitational, restaurant, and transportation industries to its clients in Massachusetts and the Northeast.
According to the terms of the agreement, upon the completion of the acquisition, the Rodman agency and its team, lead by Andy Altman, will continue to operate from its Needham location.
“The Rodman team is thrilled to become a part of Brown & Brown,” Andy Altman stated in the official announcement. “Being part of a larger organization will give our clients access to a broader array of resources while continuing to work with the same service team they know and trust.”
