In Memoriam: Roy Corso: 1943-2025

Mr. Corso was a long-time member of the Massachusetts insurance industry

Roy Corso, 82, of Medway, MA, formerly of Attleboro, MA passed away at his residence on August 12, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Marilyn (McFadden) Corso to whom he was married on September 10, 1966.

Born in Boston, MA on December 4, 1942, he was a son of the late Joseph Corso and the late Phillipa (Leone) Corso. He was raised and educated in his native city of Boston, MA where he was a 1960 graduate of Boston Latin High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business management from Boston College in 1964 and his master’s degree in business management from Suffolk University in 1972.

A a long-time member of the Massachusetts insurance industry, Mr. Corso began his professional career with Travelers rising to the CL District Manager for Travelers in Providence, RI . In 1978, he was hired by Tom Cuddy to run the Commercial Lines operation of H.K. & O.P. Richardson Insurance Agency, Inc., an agency first established in 1869. After 35 years with the agency, he retired from RCIA in 2011. It should be noted that his long, distinguished insurance career included time he spent as President of the Bristol/Norfolk Independent Insurance Association in the 1990’s. He also held the CIC designation during his entire independent insurance agency career.

Mr. Corso is fondly remembered by many current and retired members of the insurance community. His son, Christopher Corso, is Head of Placement AXA XL. and has been a global reinsurance professional for decades. His daughter, Susan Bruno is a Strategic Account Executive at Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA.

In addition to his professional career, Mr. Corso was a proud member of the Massachusetts National Guard.

Mr. Corso was a devout Catholic and was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Attleboro, MA where he served as a lector and was a member of the Serra Club.

An active member of the community, he was a member and served as past president of the Attleboro Rotary Club where he was the recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow award.

In addition to his wife of almost 60 years, he leaves his children: Christopher Roy Corso and his wife, Erin Corso, of Attleboro, MA and Susan M. Bruno and her husband, Mark Bruno, of Holliston, MA; his cherished grandchildren: Arianna Galindo, Hannah Bruno, Kaitlin Corso, Matthew Corso and Patrick Corso and extended family members and dear friends.

He was the brother of the late I. Joseph “Sonny” Corso.
