The Massachusetts Association of Insurance Agents (MAIA) has recognized John Koegel, President & CEO of Eastern Insurance Group, with the organization’s highest honor, The Henry F. Barry, Jr. Pacesetter of the Year Award. The Pacesetter of the Year Award is presented annually to a member who, through their personal and professional life, sets a pace to be followed by their fellow agents. John served on the Board of the MAIA from 2010-2020 as well as on the MAIA executive committee, and served as Chairman in 2019. He was awarded “Chairperson of the Year” in 2012 and 2014 for his work on key issues facing the association and its members.
Eastern Insurance Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Eastern Bank, is currently the second largest insurance broker in Massachusetts according to the Boston Business Journal in July 2021.
