Nancy Jane A Vajcovec

Dudley – Nancy Jane A. Vajcovec, 75, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of her family and friends on Saturday, November 26, 2022. Nancy was born in 1947, the daughter of John and Jenny (Nezuh) Vajcovec. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1964 and earned her BS in Mathematics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst where she was a member of the Sigma Alpha MU sorority. After graduation, Nancy took a position at The Hartford Insurance Company. She spent her entire career at The Hartford until her retirement at age 55.

After her retirement, Nancy moved back to Dudley and built her home on her family’s land on Hayden Pond. She loved entertaining at the “Vac Shack” and her family and friends spent many happy evenings gathering on her deck for a celebration or just a fun get-together. She was an animal lover, and over the years, her dogs and cats gave her much joy, particularly KoKo, her last dog. Nancy loved travelling especially on cruises and she also enjoyed casinos. She was very generous with her casino perks and shared them with friends and family.

Her retirement gave her the opportunity to give her time and talents to many charitable organizations. She was on the Dudley Conservation Commission and President of the Hayden Pond Association. She was co-founder and active member of the Dudley Women’s Club, a member of the Black Tavern Historical Society and the French River Connection. She also volunteered at, and was an active member of, St Andrew Bobola Church.

Nancy will be remembered for her love of family and friends, her joy for life, in her dedication to supporting worthy causes, as a super Patriot’s fan and for her enjoyment of a good Manhattan. She will be greatly missed by her many friends, her Auntie Anne Vajcovec, her 19 Vajcovec cousins and their families, her 11 Nezuh cousins and their families and all the lives she’d touched along the way.

A wake will be held on December 9, 2022, at Shaw Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street, Webster MA from 5:00 – 7:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Saturday, December 10 at St. Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main Street, Dudley, MA.

In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to St. Andrew Bobola, 54 West Main Street Dudley MA 01571.

Ms. Vajcovec’s obituary is reprinted here from the Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home website.
