NAIC Announces Resignation of Michael Consedine as CEO

March 24, 2023 by AC Editor

The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) announced today that Michael (Mike) F. Consedine is stepping down as the organization’s Chief Executive Officer, effective April 30, 2023. Mr. Consedine has served as the CEO of the NAIC since January 2017.

“On behalf of our members and the NAIC staff, we are grateful to Mike for all his good work over the past six-plus years and his commitment to the NAIC and the state-based system of insurance regulation,” said NAIC President and Missouri Department of Commerce and Insurance Director Chlora Lindley-Myers. “We are proud of his many accomplishments, including providing stability and leadership during the pandemic; spearheading efforts to help us develop our State Ahead and State Connected strategic plans; and his unwavering commitment and support of our state-based system in the challenging international area. We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

NAIC Names Acting Chief Executive Officer

In response to the announcement, the NAIC’s Executive Committee named Andrew J. Beal as Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The appointment was made during the 2023 Spring National Meeting in Louisville, Kentucky.

Mr. Beal currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Legal Officer of the NAIC. He joined the NAIC in 1999.

“The NAIC staff and its members congratulate Andy Beal on his appointment as Acting CEO,” said NAIC President and Missouri Department of Commerce and Insurance Director Chlora Lindley-Myers. “We look forward to Andy’s continued leadership as we begin implementing State Connected, the NAIC’s 2023-2025 strategic plan. We’re confident that Andy and the NAIC internal senior leadership team will continue to provide the stability and guidance needed for the organization to support the NAIC membership during this period of transition.”
