Arbella Insurance Foundation Announces Total 2025 Donations and Organizations Supported Across New England

Arbella Insurance Foundation Donated $2.4 million to Support Local Nonprofits

The Arbella Insurance Foundation (“Foundation”) is proud to announce the donation of $2.4 in 2025 to support 500 charitable organizations across New England. Since its founding in 2005, the Foundation has contributed more than $47 million to nonprofits dedicated to strengthening the communities Arbella serves.

“2025 was a special year for the Arbella Insurance Foundation, as we celebrated our 20th anniversary and reflected on our organization’s purpose and commitment to serving communities most in need,” said John Donohue, Chairman and CEO of the Arbella Insurance Foundation. “Building on the momentum and passion of the Arbella Insurance Group employees and agents last year, we continued to identify and support organizations that mean the most to our people. After two decades of community investment across New England, we are not slowing down. Thank you to Arbella employees and independent agents who continue to give their time and compassion to nonprofits year after year.”

The Foundation’s 2025 contributions supported long-standing charitable partners and new organizations focused on critical areas, including food insecurity, housing and homelessness, community health, and immigration reform. In addition to financial support, Arbella Insurance Group (“Arbella”) employees continued to play a vital role by volunteering their time to support the needs of their local communities.

Throughout 2025, the Foundation received support from more than 450 Arbella employee volunteers, who participated in 78 volunteer opportunities benefiting 35 organizations across the region. In total, Arbella employee volunteers contributed more than 1,700 hours of service during the year, further amplifying the Foundation’s impact. Together in 2025, the Foundation, Arbella employees, and independent agents donated and volunteered to make a substantial difference across New England.

“Arbella employees and independent agents play a critical role in identifying where support can make the greatest difference,” said Robin Jones, Executive Director of the Arbella Insurance Foundation. “By combining their insight, volunteerism, and charitable giving with resources from the Foundation, we are able to create a powerful impact and strengthen communities across New England.”

Through its charitable giving and volunteer initiatives, the Arbella Insurance Foundation remains committed to fostering strong, resilient communities and advancing meaningful, lasting impact throughout New England. The Foundation was also recognized as one of the Boston Business Journal’s top charitable contributors in the state of Massachusetts for 17 consecutive years.

Highlights among the Foundation’s 2025 charitable giving initiatives include:

The Foundation’s 20th Anniversary

In celebration of its 20th anniversary, the Foundation awarded $20,000 grants to 20 New England organizations tackling hunger, homelessness, education, and health, including Casa Myrna, Lazarus House, Kingston Food Pantry, and Vinfen. Each grant supported nonprofits with strong connections to Arbella employees and independent agents, helping them continue their vital work.

Food Insecurity

The Foundation continues to support food insecurity programs in New England through its annual “Let’s Drive Out Hunger” program, which raised nearly $214,000 in 2025, thanks to the efforts of Arbella employees and independent agents. Over the last 17 years, these combined efforts have raised more than $2.4 M, to assist hundreds of food programs and pantries in New England. This includes organizations that are taking a proactive and community-based approach to addressing hunger in their regions, such as Interfaith Social Services, St. Vincent de Paul, Salem Food Pantry, and many more.

Health and Wellness

The Foundation continued to prioritize the advancement of health and wellness in New England communities in 2025 through its sustained commitment to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Marking the company’s 17th annual Pink Day, an employee-driven event that raises money for critical cancer education and screening programs for people in underserved communities, Arbella employees raised more than $28,000 and with the Foundation’s support, that total grew to $60K, taking total lifetime contributions from Pink Day activities past $600,000.

The Arbella Foundation and Arbella Insurance Group, combined with the generosity of the Arbella employees and agents, also contributed $100,000 to Dana-Farber as part of the Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon, which supports cancer care and research. Over the years, the Foundation contributed close to $2 million to Dana-Farber as part of this annual event.

Immigration

Over 18% of Massachusetts residents are immigrants, which represents nearly 22% of the Massachusetts labor force. The Arbella Foundation is proud to support them through immigration reform in Massachusetts, and by partnering with organizations like the Mabel Center for Immigrant Justice.

About the Arbella Insurance Foundation

The Arbella Insurance Group founded the Arbella Insurance Foundation in 2005. Recognized as one of the Boston Business Journal’s “Top Charitable Contributors” for 17 consecutive years, the mission of Arbella’s Foundation is to engage in activities and to support not-for-profit organizations that have a significant positive impact on the people and communities served by Arbella.
