Kaplansky Insurance, one of the largest independent locally owned agencies in the Northeast, announced its acquisition of Picken Insurance Agency, North Chelmsford, MA. The details of the transaction were private.

Founded in 1924, Picken Insurance Agency has been dedicated to providing personal and commercial services to clients throughout the Merrimack Valley. “The addition of Picken by Kaplansky provides their clients with access to an even greater depth and breadth of expertise and a broader range of insurance product offerings,” said Ely Kaplansky, President and CEO of Kaplansky Insurance.
Second location for Kaplansky Insurance in Chelmsford
Kaplansky Insurance presently operates another location in Chelmsford at 211 Chelmsford Street, approximately four miles from the Picken Agency’s location at 10 Middlesex Street. Kaplansky Insurance did not disclose its plans for maintaining or merging the two locations.
Picken acquisition is 23rd acquisition for Kaplansky Insurance
Kaplansky Insurance now operates 12 locations in eastern and central Massachusetts. This event marks the 23rd acquisition by Kaplansky Insurance. “Our expansion plan is on target. “We are continuing our search for profitable, quality agencies. We expect to continue to enhance our growth through both acquisitions and a strong focus on organic sales and marketing” according to Mr. Kaplansky.
