Insurance Library Launches 2026 Summer Intern Program
Program Overview and Registration
Boston, MA – Registration is open for the Insurance Library’s fifth annual Summer Intern Program for interns, new hires, and early-career professionals of Library member organizations. The first event in this year’s program is a June 10 webinar, Insurance 101.
Expanded Educational Offering
The Library has offered a summer intern program since 2022. Michael Pezza, the Library’s Executive Director, noted that “Each year since the Library started the program, we’ve expanded the program content and events, and this year is no different. What started as a program with six webinars and two in-person events has expanded into an exciting, robust program with a total of twenty-one hours of education content and three in-person events.” The price is $125 per intern or other employee.
Pezza added that, “The focus on virtual presentation of all but one educational component makes this program suitable for interns regardless of their location. And if there is a schedule conflict with a work project or other internal event, interns may watch a recording of the webinar whenever convenient.”
As in the past, Library members donating to the Library’s Annual Fund at the Sustaining Patron level will receive ten free registrations.
The educational programming this summer includes thirteen one-hour webinars geared to students and those new to insurance, aligned along three tracks: Insurance Fundamentals, Career Paths in Insurance, and Career Success. In addition, participants may attend at no extra charge the Library’s three two-hour, CE-approved, sponsored webinars in June and July, featuring carefully selected topics at an introductory level (Commercial Liability Concepts, An Introduction to Life Insurance, and Reinsurance: Forms and Functions). Finally, we are introducing a new in-person education event, Negotiate & Navigate, designed to help participants build confidence, collaborate effectively with new teams, and navigate professional relationships. It will include segments on Negotiation Skills and Emotional Intelligence.
As always, we are delighted to again present the Quincy Mutual Group Ice Cream Sundae Social (where participants will hear from representatives of local insurance organizations) and a professional headshot session.
Organizations interested in registering summer interns or other employees should visit the Library’s website at https://bit.ly/ILAB_summer26 for more details and a link to the online registration page. They may also contact the Library’s Education Coordinator, Sarah Hart, at 617-227-2087, ext. 202 or by email at shart@insurancelibrary.org. As Sarah explains, “It’s a simple registration process, which provides options for attending some or all of the program offerings. To register interns or others, organizations do not need the company email addresses that interns will use for the summer. They can be supplied later.”
