Union Mutual Insurance Company announced today Jennifer P. Galfetti has been promoted to the position of Chief Operating Officer. Galfetti joined the Company in 2009 after more than 15 years of diverse accounting and finance work. In 2013 she was promoted to the position of Chief Financial Officer & Treasurer at the Company.
“We are thrilled that Jen has agreed to move into the role of Chief Operating Officer,” Union Mutual President & CEO Lisa Keysar said. “The Company will benefit greatly from Jen’s wealth of financial experience, as well as her deep understanding of insurance operations.”
Galfetti assumes the role of COO at a momentous time for the Company, as it celebrates its 150th anniversary and as it seeks regulatory approval for an affiliation with the Massachusetts-based Norfolk & Dedham Group. To allow for a smooth transition within the Company, and in the interim before regulatory approval for the affiliation is granted, Galfetti will have the dual role of Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. Once the affiliation is approved, Galfetti will be an integral part of the process to affiliate the financial and legal aspects of the combined entities.
Galfetti has been an important force in the Company’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) commitments. Outside of work, Galfetti carries out her dedication to the Central Vermont community as Treasurer of the Montpelier Rotary Club and serves on the board of the Barre Area Development, Inc.
