Kaplansky Insurance Acquires Bridge Insurance

This marks the 39th agency acquisition for the agency

Kaplansky Insurance, one of the largest independent locally-owned agencies in the Northeast, is growing again. The company announced that it has acquired Bridge Insurance in Newton, MA.

“Our agency is proud of our history as an independent agency company and remains committed to the agency channel,” said Ely Kaplansky, President and CEO in the company’s official announcement. “Our success is rooted in providing products and services to our agency partners and policyholders, thereby gaining and holding their respect and loyalty. This acquisition is an exciting opportunity to strengthen our position within the independent agency channel while positioning us for future prosperity.”

Bridge Insurance Associates aka Massinsurers has provided Business, Auto, and Home Insurance for over 40 years. Gerald Baratz founded Bridge Insurance in the mid-1960 ′s. Over the last 40+ years, the agency has grown to become one of the most personal oriented independent insurance agencies in New England.

Kaplansky Insurance will not be retaining Bridge’s existing location in Newton, Massachusetts, but instead will merge the business into its Needham headquarters. With the addition of Bridge Insurance, Kaplansky Insurance has successfully acquired 40 independent insurance agencies during its four decades in business.

Kaplansky Insurance’s most recent acquisitions

With the addition of the of Bridge Insurance, Kaplansky Insurance now has welcomed 39 independent insurance agencies into its growing family of insurance agencies. The following is a recap of some of the agency’s most recent acquisitions in the past few years covered by Agency Checklists:
