Agency Checklists’ proprietary list of purchases and sales of insurance agencies in New England
While the year 2025 started off relatively strong for mergers and acquisition activity in Massachusetts, the second quarter of the year (Q2-2025) saw a dip in activity, in particular, during the month of April. Overall, there were a total of five insurance agency mergers and acquisitions reported to Agency Checklists during Q2-2025 with the largest sale by far being Brown & Brown’s acquisition of Risk Strategies for a staggering $9.9 Billion. In terms of overall activity, Duffy Insurance of Peabody has been the most active agency buyer so far this year with three announced agency acquisitions, followed by Wellesley’s Deland, Gibson, with two.
