Agency Checklists’ Proprietary List of Recent Acquisitions in New England for 2025
Massachusetts insurance agency merger-and-acquisition activity remained active and highly competitive in 2025, with Agency Checklists tracking 31 transactions announced or reported during the year. This number reflects a modest increase over 2024’s 30 deals, but still below the 37 transactions recorded in 2023.
Deal volume was steady through the first three quarters, with 8 acquisitions in Q1, 7 in Q2, and 7 in Q3, before accelerating again in the fourth quarter as regional buyers and national platforms closed out the year with 9 additional transactions. The 2025 figures underscore that agency consolidation continues to reshape the Massachusetts marketplace, driven by repeat acquirers, platform expansion across New England, and sustained demand for established independent agencies with durable books of business.
